GROS WEEKEND à LEYSIN!!!!

Ce weekend sera gros à Leysin avec plein d’évènements et de soirées. On commence avec le fameux “WaterSlide” qui sera devant le freestyle bar au pied du snowpark. Le waterslide sera ouvert à tous du 3 au 5 avril. Le samedi 3 avril verra 2 autres évènements dont le “Banked Slalom“, concours de snowboard, et le “Roi de la Montagne“, descente de ski et snowboard avec bière en mains. Pour finir, la plus grosse soirée de la saison prendra place le samedi 3 avril au bar le Lynx avec DJ Blaise et DJ Birch pour une soirée de folie!!!!! Venez faire la fête!

Big Weekend in Leysin with three events and one huge party! From Saturday April 3rd to Monday April 5th, the Giant Water Slide will be here for everyone to try it out. On Saturday April 3rd, it will also be time for the “Banked Slalom” and the “King of the Mountain” race. To top off the weekend, DJ Blaise and DJ Birch will be spinning on the wheels of Steel at the Lynx Bar on Saturday April 3rd 2010. Come and have a blast, this weekend in Leysin!

Thomas Müller nous présente le Champs Open

Voici l’édit de Thomas Müller du Nescafé Champs Open 2010. Comme vous le savez, la météo était capricieuse le jour des finales donc voici quelques images des qualifications du vendredi. Notre régional Nico Tille avait pris la 11ème place, à 1 rang de la qualification. Dommage! Merci à Thomas!

Here is the edit of the Nescafé Champs Open presented by Thomas Müller. As you may know, the weather was terrible during the finals so this edit focuses on the qualifying day of Friday. Our regional rider, Nico Tille, almost qualified for the finals by placing 11th, 1 spot from making it! Thanks Thomas!

New Rail 18 mètres!!!

Pour finir la saison en beauté, le crew du park a décidé d’assembler l’entier de nos rails modulables pour en faire un down de 18 mètres. Notre shaper, David, a déjà réussi à passer l’entier de ce module à l’opposer de Romain qui semblait assez frustré (: A bientôt à Leysin!

To top off the season, the park crew has decided to assemble all of our rails to make an 18 meter flat rail. Our shaper David has already stomped it while Romain seems pretty frustrated. Come and enjoy!

4ème place pour le Team Leysin à Villars!

Comme vous le savez peut-être, il fallait qu’on rende une photo par thème: backcountry, freestyle et lifestyle. On a fini 4ème et on a obtenu le prix du jury pour la grosse cliff de Trotot. Les Frères Cepi en Image!

Cette année, la nouvelle recrue du park c’est Romain Cepi. C’est vraiment un gars cool avec un humour toujours présent. Son frère, Max, qui travail au snowpark de Nendaz fait souvent le trajet par ici pour se faire un journée entre frères avec quelques photos et cette fois-ci, un petit édit vidéo des 2 snowparks. Malheureusement, il y avait trop de vent le jour ils ont ridés à Leysin, donc pas de grosses tables. Merci aux 2 pour leurs efforts et leurs jovialités!

This year, the new shaper in the park is Romain Cepi. He’s a really cool guy with constant humour. His brother Max, who works for the Nendaz Snowpark, has been coming to Leysin quite often to do a little photo shoot, and this time a video. Thanks to both of them for their effort and humour!

Session Mars part 1

Voici quelques photos prisent par Joëlle Aerni et Max Cepi durant ce début de mois de mars. Pour info, le park est absolument incroyable ces jours avec un nouveau hip/transfer dans la ligne noire ainsi que 2 gros kicks. Le pipe a été re-shapé aujourd’hui pour le weekend et nos shapers vont essayer d’assembler un rail de 18 mètres pour finir la saison en beauté. Les riders sur les photos sont: Benjamin, Yannick, Romain, Nadège, Alex et Dylan. Venez nombreux rider le plus beau park que Leysin n’a jamais connu! Merci à Joëlle et à Max!!!

Here are a few shots taken by Joëlle Aerni and Max Cepi during the first half of March. For your information, the park is absolutelly perfect with a new hip/transfer in the black line and 2 sick kickers. The superpipe is being re-shaped as we speak for the weekend. To top it off, our shapers are planning on assembling an 18 meter rail to end the season. The riders on the pictures are: Benjamin, Yannick, Romain, Nadège, Alex & Dylan. “Happy End” banked slalom, 3 avril 2010

Le 1er Banked Slalom dans l’histoire de Leysin aura lieu le 3 avril 2010. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas, le Banked Slalom et un parcours de slalom géant en snowboard piqueté dans un vallon naturel. Le plus il y a de passages, le plus un bank (un mini virage relevé) se forme autour de chaque piquet. Ceci permet au riders d’utiliser l’accélération créée et d’exécuter le parcours en un minimum de temps. C’est un évènement vraiment sympa ou le temps n’est qu’un petit facteur comparé au but principal de rider entre potes et de s’amuser ensemble. Le programme est simple; essais libres le matin et 2 chronos durant l’après-midi. Plein de prix sont à gagner. Inscriptions sur place CHF 5.-.

The 1st ever Banked Slalom in Leysin will take place on April 3rd 2010. For those who don’t know, a banked slalom is a snowboard course set up in a gully where banks are shaped the more the riders go down the run. This creates an acceleration which allows riders to get down as fast as possible. The spirit of the event is chilled out and the final results have little meaning compared to the fun of riding with your buddies. The program of the day will be: free training runs in the morning and two timed runs in the afternoon. Lots of prizes are awaiting you. Sign-up fee CHF 5.-

Le “Roi de la Montagne” 3 avril 2010

Devenez « le roi de la montagne » en franchissant le 1er la ligne d’arrivée de la descente royale verre à la main avec le maximum de liquide malgré les bosses et multiples virages que vous trouverez depuis le toit de Leysin jusqu’au bas des cabines.
RDV en haut, Inscriptions sur place, prix 5Fr, dernière cabine à 16h30.
(Déguisements fortement conseillés, tous types d’engins de glisse autorisés sauf gonflables et luges, catégories hommes et femmes, nombreux lots de nos partenaires)

The “King of the Mountain” event will take place on April 3rd 2010 from the top of the Berneuse all the way to Leysin. The aim of this event is to get down as fast as possible with a full glass of beer. The first one down with the most beer wins. Meeting place will be at 16h45 at Berneuse. Last cable car up 16h30. Entry fee CHF 5.-.
