Voici quelques images du Champs Open, le vendredi durant la partie OPEN de l’event. Le but de cette journée était d’offrir, à qui voulait, la possibilité de ce qualifier pour les finales du samedi avec le Pros invités.

Here are a few images of the Nescafé Champs on the day of the Open event. This day was open to anyone wanting to attempt to qualify for the finals on Saturday and ride with the Pros invited.

Mark Kelly au Lynx, vendredi 12 mars

Ce vendredi 12 mars 2010, Mark Kelly sera en concert au bar le Lynx. Cet artiste qui vient souvent à Leysin nous vient de Vevey et commence à avoir une sérieuse réputation européenne et mondiale. This Friday March 12th 2010, Mark Kelly will be live in concert at the Lynx bar. This artist plays quite a lot in town and comes from the nearby city of Vevey. “SHOOT’EM” 2010 à Villars, le 13 mars

Le « SHOOT’EM » est un concours de photos amateur autour du thème du ski freestyle et du snowboard. Il se déroule durant une journée sur le domaine skiable de Villars – Gryon – Les Diablerets – Glacier 3000. La participation au « SHOOT’EM » se fait par équipe d’un ou au maximum deux skieur(s)/snowboardeur(s)/ accompagné d’un photographe. Toutes les informations pour participer plus bas ou sur le site de www.isbc.ch.

The « SHOOT’EM » is an event for amateur photographers on the theme of freestyle skiing and snowboarding. It takes place during 1 day in the ski areas of Villars – Gryon – Les Diablerets – Glacier 3000. You need to be a team to participate with 1-2 riders and 1 photographer. “ONE TOO” au Leysarium le 20 mars 2010

Le 20 mars 2010, le Leysarium présente un concert en live de “ONE TOO”. Ce groupe de POP vous fera swinger toute la nuit. Venez nombreux les découvrir! Ouverture des portes 21h30, entrée CHF 10.-.

On March 20th 2010, the Leysarium will presents a live concert of “ONE TOO”. This group of POP will get you swinging all night long. Doors open at 21h30, entry fee CHF 10.-.

JOHANN BAISAMY vinqueur du 19e NESCAFÉ CHAMPS

Aujourd’hui, le français Johann Baisamy a gagné la 19ème édition du Nescafé Champs Open. C’est sous un ciel tourmenté avec de la neige et du vent qu’il a vaincu le Superpipe de Leysin. Le suisse Patrick Burgener a pris la 2ème place et pour finir le podium, Maxence Tevelle, le français, a terminé 3ème. Bravo à tous les riders présents et à l’organisation qui ont fait un travail incroyable. Demain l’ambiance sera plus relax avec le contest du “Buddy System” qui a pour but de faire rider 2 potes en même temps dans le pipe. And the winner of the 19th Nescafé Champs Open is Johann Baisamy. It’s in tough weather that the finals took place with snow and wind. Nonetheless the riders had a great time with 2nd place from the Swiss rider, Patrick Burgener and 3rd for the french, Maxence Tevelle. Thanks to all the riders and the organizing committee for a great contest. Tomorrow will be time to relax with the Buddy System contest which means two riders ride the pipe at the same time. Eh oui, vous pourrez voir la finale en direct du CHAMPS OPEN 2010 ce samedi 6 mars sur LeysinPark.ch. Cette finale aura lieu de 13h00 à 14h00 CET et promet d’être incroyable! BON SHOW!

Champs Open Friday Report!

Le Champs Open a amené du beau temps aujourd’hui pour les qualifications Open pour la finale de demain. Le spectacle était au rendez-vous avec la présence des meilleures riders amateurs de Suisse et d’ailleurs. Les 10 premiers de cette journée ont été qualifiés pour la finale de demain et rideront avec les Pro invités. Cette finale aura lieu de 13h00 à 14h00 avec les qualifications le matin. Côté soirée, Samedi sera la “Back to the Roots” party avec Billy the Artist, DJ’s Idem, Key & JP et pour finir un groupe de ROCK, the “21st Century Schizoid Men” spécialement assemblé pour la soirée avec le batteur de Sens Unik et beaucoup d’autres musiciens réputés. Venez nombreux faire la FIESTA!!!

Today, the Champs Open came with sunshine and a sick event. The best amateur riders were here from Switzerland & elsewhere. The first 10 guys will be riding with the Pros and the big finals tomorrow. These will take place between 13h00 & 14h00 with the qualifications in the morning. Saturday night will be the “Back to the Roots Party” with Billy the Artist, DJ’s Idem, Key & JP as well as a Rock band, “21st Century Schizoid Men”. Come and enjoy tomorrow with us!!!

The “Place to Be” 2010

Avec le retour du Champs Open à Leysin, il ne manquait plus que le “Place to Be”. Ce bar/disco géant et mise en place dans le parking couvert des remontées mécaniques et offre à Leysin certaines de ces plus belles soirées. Cette année l’organisation y ajoute un “Coffee Lounge” gratuit, présenté par Nescafé. Au programme de ce vendredi soir; 7th Sky Magazine célèbre son 20ème anniversaire avec un concert de “KWOON” ainsi qu’un DJ set de Nnim 2. Venez nombreux célébrer le retour du Champs à Leysin!

With the return of the Champs Open in Leysin, only one things was missing, the famous “Place to Be”. This enormous indoor bar/disco is located inside of the Télécabine indoor parking lot and presents some of Leysin’s greatest parties! This year, the crew have even added a free “Coffee Lounge” presented by Nescafé. On the agenda tomorrow night, Friday March 5th, the 7th Sky Magazine celebrates its 20th anniversary and presents “KWOON” in concert followed by DJ Nnims 2. Come and join us for some FUN!

Interview with Doug Atkinson

Aujourd’hui, nous sommes allés à la rencontre du chef technique du Champs Open pour discuter un peu de la situation, 2 jours avant le début de l’évènement. Les choses bougent pas mal avec les derniers fignolages du superpipe qui est absolument énorme avec 2 hips d’entrées magnifiques. Côté “Place to Be” le Coffee Lounge est presque prêt et la fête peut pratiquement commencer. Durant les Champs, le snowpark sera en principe entièrement ouvert mis à part le pipe. Il se peut que la ligne noire soit fermée pour quelques heures seulement. A bientôt à Leysin!

Today, we went to meet the Technical Chief of the Champs Open to discuss the situation 2 days before the event kick-off. Things are going pretty well with the final touches on the enormous superpipe and its two entry hips. Concerning the “Place to Be” the Coffee Lounge is ready and the party can start! For the people who want to ride the park, it will remain almost fully open throughout the event (except for the pipe). See you soon!

19th Nescafé Champs Open Program

Voici le programme du 19ème Champs Open qui aura lieu du 4 au 7 Mars 2010. Vous pouvez feuilleter le prospectus officiel ci-dessous. Les heures se trouvent sur la dernière page du flyer. En résumé, le 4 mars, 1ère manche d’entrainements et ouverture du Place to Be. Le 5 mars, Qualifications et soirée au Place to Be. Le 6 mars, Finale du 19ème Nescafé Champs Open 2010 et soirée au Place to Be. Et pour finir, le 7 mars, journée fun avec contest du Buddy Système et clôture de l’évènement. Les riders attendus sont pour l’instant; Iouri Podladtchikov (4ème des Jeux Olympiques 2010), Tonton Holland (de Leysin), ainsi que quelques-uns des meilleures riders du moment!

To sum it up: Thursday March 4th is the first training session in the pipe as well as the opening of the Place to Be. March 5th will be the qualification runs in the pipe with a party at the Place to Be. March 6th will be the finals of the Nescafé Champs Open 2010 as well as a massive party at the Place to Be.
